The Angels singer - a huge fan of the paranormal - has reportedly paid $16 million (£11.4 million) for the estate near Compton Bassett, the headquarters of leading U.K. flying saucer enthusiasts SUFOR.

The mansion is also in the centre of what has been dubbed 'crop circle country'.

Locals reported 45 alleged UFO sightings in 2008.

Williams recently claimed to have seen three UFOs in his lifetime.

SUFOR boss Chris Williams hopes his new neighbour gives him a call. He tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Wiltshire has a really rich history of... unexplained phenomena.

"We have a lot more UFO sightings than most and we've got the famous stone circles at Stonehenge and Avebury, and the ancient mystical sites like Silbury Hill. I'm sure Robbie would find our meetings fascinating."
