Bosses at The Gersh Agency insist the crime drama's 15-year veteran broke an agreement to pay them 10 per cent of the $2,229,084 (GBP1,528,605.50) she has pulled in from the show.

And they have filed a $229,908.40 (GBP157,095.50) suit in Los Angeles Supreme Court, according to TMZ.com.

Merkerson has also starred on Broadway, and appeared in big screen hits Jersey Girl and Black Snake Moan.
