The singer has received pleas from residents and school officials in Highgate, North London, where he lives, asking him to support a scheme encouraging children to express themselves through music rather than fighting.
Knife crime is a growing epidemic in London - but locals believe with the help of the famous face, they can keep it off the streets in their area.
A local tells Britain's Daily Star, "In the interests of discouraging knife crime, a safer neighbourhood group in Highgate have written to George to ask for help.
"They're trying to get local children to focus on the challenges they face living in the area and express it in creative songwriting instead of violence.
"They've asked George to use his contacts ideally in organising a songwriting competition in schools."
