The organisation announced the awards for the top movie talent of 2008 on Thursday (04Dec08). The board's picks often claim Oscar gold at the Academy Awards.
Hathaway was named Best Actress for her role in Rachel Getting Married, while Eastwood's turn as a grumpy war veteran in the yet-to-be released Gran Torino landed him the Best Actor honour.
Danny Boyle's new film Slumdog Millionaire, an early Oscar dark horse, garnered the coveted Best Film prize.
David Fincher was named Best Director for his new film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which stars Brad Pitt as a man aging backwards, while Josh Brolin was named Best Supporting Actor for Milk and Penelope Cruz Best Supporting Actress for her role opposite Javier Bardem and Scarlett Johansson in Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
Hit sci-fi adventure Wall-E landed Best Animated Feature.
The awards will be handed on 14 January (08) at a gala in New York, which will be hosted by Whoopi Goldberg.
Last year's (07) recipient of the board's Best Film prize, No Country For Old Men, went on to win the Best Picture Oscar at this year's (08) Academy Awards ceremony.
