The $95 million (GBP51 million) complex - called The Crescendo - will feature 180 condominiums and a recording studio and performance hall, enabling residents to carry on making music into their twilight years.
McBride says, "Residents can still contribute music, make music, record music and perform music here and that's very unique.
"The music industry is such a special industry and I think it's really important for people who transition into assisted living or independent living to be able to have people around them that have a point of reference."
Apartments will cost between $300,000 (GBP162,000) and $600,000 (GBP324,000) each, but a fund is being set up to financially aid wannabe residents.
McBride, 42, is already eyeing a property herself, telling People.com, "It's definitely a place that I would want to come and spend some time in my later years."
