The former child star appeared on Conan O'Brien's show on Friday night (05Sep08) and was gushing about impending fatherhood, but he feels he went too far when he stated his wife was "huge".

In a statement released on Monday (08Sep08), a red-faced O'Connell said, "I regret calling my wife 'huge' on Conan O'Brien.

"I meant to say that there are specific areas of my wife that are larger than normal and growing every day. All other portions of my wife are quite petite. I apologise to her and will be coming home with flowers."
