The former Genesis singer's settlement, paid to his third wife Orianne Cevey, beats the $48.6 million (GBP24.3 million) Sir Paul McCartney gave to Heather Mills earlier this year (08).

Cevey, 35, was married to the Genesis star for six years. The couple has two children - Nicolas, eight, and Matthre, four.

Drummer Collins gave his second wife Jill Tavelman $34 million (GBP17 million) as part of a 1994 divorce settlement.
