The 53-year-old star has revealed all about her life in her forthcoming tome Undiscovered, which hits bookstores this month (Jun08).
According to the National Enquirer, Winger reveals a truck accident at 17 left her paralysed and blind for 10 months.
The tabloid claims to have obtained a sneak peek of the book, in which she allegedly describes how the accident and her injuries left her "wanting out any way she could".
A source tells the Enquirer, "She writes that she walked to a window in the hospital and was going to jump and commit suicide, but somehow, in her blindness, she stumbled into the nurses station and was saved."
Winger went on to find fame in movies like Urban Cowboy, Terms of Endearment and An Officer and a Gentleman. She's making a comeback in Hollywood after taking time out to attend to family and personal matters.
