The singer-turned-author was rescued by firemen after she was trapped for an hour at the Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex, England when the service elevator broke down.
The 35-year-old was due to sign copies of her new children's book, Ugenia Lavender, at a book store - but waiting fans were told by staff there had been "an incident".
Once she was finally rescued, Halliwell explained the delay to the waiting children saying, "I got stuck in a lift."
