The 18-year-old star admits she's always been ambitious - and she always knew she was destined to become a country singer.

Swift, who signed her first record deal at 13, says, "I took my demo CDs of karaoke songs, where I sound like a chipmunk - it's pretty awesome - to Nashville, and my mom waited in the car while I knocked on doors up and down Music Row (in Nashville).

"I would say, 'Hi, I'm Taylor. I'm 11. I want a record deal. Call me.'"
