Elijah Wood as 'Frodo' in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

The actor played hobbit FRODO BAGGINS in the hit movie series and is keen to be a part of any further additions to the movie franchise.

Plans are currently underway to start filming The Hobbit - JRR Tolkien's first novel - with rumours of a second prequel to follow.

But Wood's character does not feature in the story of The Hobbit, but the star hopes there will be a way of including him in the movie.

He says, "If I'm asked to go back and revisit that character, I would love to. I would absolutely love it.

"If he (Frodo) should show up, it would be the perfect way to revisit because it could be small enough that I could go back and have a nice sort of reunion with the memories that I have of that experience."
