The Walk On By star, 67, was being treated by medics for a twisted ankle in Rome when the raid took place at Hotel De Russie on Monday (07Jan08).

Robbers made off with two diamond rings, a Rolex watch and a gold necklace among their haul - with the burglary resulting in Warwick being an hour late for her performance in the Italian capital.

She told the crowd, "I'm sorry. I was robbed."
