The star plays murdering landlady Mrs Lovett in the new movie, and has likened her role to that of U.S. lifestyle queen Martha Stewart - regardless of Lovett's dark side.

She says, "I did have a few pie lessons. I love cooking but although I can't say I'm a brilliant cook - but better than her.

"I had to learn how to make a pie. That was tricky, the whole pie making and singing at the same time. I wanted Mrs Lovett to be a bit Martha Stewart. She should have her own cooking show. It'd be nice, a recipe book definitely."
