SHEEN LEFT TWISTED BY CEREBRAL PALSY VICTIM PORTRAYAL
THE QUEEN star MICHAEL SHEEN was so committed to playing real life cerebral palsy victim ART HONEYMAN in new film THE MUSIC WITHIN he needed daily physiotherapy sessions to cope with the demands of twisting his body.

Sheen, who played Tony Blair in The Queen, mastered what he calls the "physical CP vocabulary" before he met Honeyman in Portland, Oregon.

That meeting made the British actor realise he'd have to twist his form in order to portray a cerebral palsy sufferer convincingly.

He explains, "In some ways I was more comfortable in my CP body than I was in my own body while we were shooting the film. The character sort of took me over a little bit.

"I didn't like being me, I only felt comfortable when I was back in the wheelchair.

"I ended up in physical therapy because, after a day's shooting in the chair, my neck would be aching and my back would be aching, so I had to have someone come to the set to work on me every day."
