The star has been linked with the Jimmy Choo founder over the last two months (Sep/Oct07), but Slater is adamant Mellon is merely a good pal.

He says, "I can't say that there is a romance going on, no. All I can say is that I like her very much.

"She is a wonderful woman and we are quite good friends."
