The actor, 79, also refuses to write about his three marriages and mistresses in the upcoming tome - opting to write about his career.

He says, "I'm not looking to dish the dirt or recycle sleaze stories - there is already enough of that in the world.

"Rather, I would like to write a warm, amusing and maybe even slightly emotional volume that tells my story, corrects some of the inaccuracies previously reported and offer an insight into a jobbing actor."
