The Inside Man director believes the internet is the perfect tool for budding moviemakers to get their work seen by a large audience at a low cost.

He says, "I was from the prehistoric age. You have no excuse now. If you have a film and you're talented and someone is not seeing it, it's your fault."

Babelgum is a website that streams video to computers for free.

Directors who have already had, or will have, their films accepted at other festivals between January 2007 and February 2008 can submit their work from 15 September (07) by uploading their movies onto Babelgum's website.
