Hopper admits he had no idea Wilson was at such a low ebb.

He says, "I know him. He's really a sensible, wonderful young man. I'm really shocked by it.

"(He was) the last person in the world I thought would be suicidal."

Wilson is now back at his Santa Monica, California home after spending six days at a Los Angeles hospital.

Doctors are satisfied the actor has recovered physically from the trauma and allowed him to return home, under the supervision of his close friends and family.
