The singer moved to the U.S. last week (12Jul07) with husband David and their young family, but visited the city months before to practise for her California driving test.

However, her initial efforts were thwarted when she was followed and questioned by traffic cops while driving her black SUV in the city - and she's still puzzled by what attracted their attention.

Speaking on her new reality documentary Victoria Beckham: Coming To America, she says, "I still don't know what I did wrong.

"I didn't know whether to pose or get arrested. God, I was shocked and devastated - I was wearing flat shoes!"

Police attributed the roadside interrogation to the fact Beckham was illegally using her Spanish driving licence.
