BJORK QUIT BRITAIN OVER MAILBOMB SCARE
BJORK quit her adopted England for Spain after a bomb threat against her in 1996 made her feel like a public target.

The Icelandic star admits she was strangely flattered by the craziness that led to deranged fan Ricardo Lopez sending her a mail bomb - because the headline-grabbing incident made her feel accepted.

But then she knew it was time to leave England.

She tells Spin magazine, "I had lived in England for three years, and I was an A-list celebrity there. It was me and five other people.

"It sounds really bigheaded, but it was just a fact. As a foreigner, I was kind of flattered. It was like I was being offered a role in their society: 'Will you be the person we watch and look at?' But I didn't like it.

"I felt if I breathed in, that 100,000 people were synchronising their breathing with me.

"I don't think it's a coincidence that everybody leaves England - John Lennon, David Bowie, Becks (David Beckham) and Posh (Victoria Beckham). People can't handle it over there.

"So I said, 'Thanks for the honour, but I'm not interested,' and I moved to Spain for six months... and stepped out of the whole thing."
