The woman accused of trying to run over SANDRA BULLOCK's TV mechanic husband JESSE JAMES has been charged with aggravated assault and stalking.

Marcia Valentine, 56, faces a maximum sentence of four years and eight months in prison if found guilty to attempting "three or four times" to hit James with her Mercedes last month (Apr07).

Neither Bullock nor her husband were hurt in the attack, which was witnessed by James' 10-year-old son.

Valentine allegedly drove off before authorities arrived on the scene, but was taken into custody the following day (23Apr07) and was released on $25,000 (GBP12,500) bail.

She is due back in court to answer the felony charges next week (begs21May07).

Last Friday (12May07), Bullock won a three year restraining order against Valentine, who was ordered by a judge to stay at least 500 feet (152 metres) away from the actress and her family.
