Movie bosses at Lionsgate plan to turn artist THOMAS KINKADE's A CHRISTMAS COTTAGE painting into the focus of a new film about how the piece was inspired.

O'Toole is slated to play Kinkade's mentor GLEN WEISSLER in the festive film.
