In a radio interview to be broadcast next Sunday (09DEC06), Harris admits he was wrong to label Australia's indigenous Aborigine as Abos.

The song, which became a worldwide hit and launched the entertainer to stardom, contains the verse 'Let me Abos go loose, Lew; They've no further use, Lew."

He says, "At the time I was 27 or something when I wrote that. But since 1960 I have never sung that verse."

Harris also adds that he has a "great respect and love" for Aborigines.
