The former 98 DEGREES singer is thrilled to hear the pop superstar is back in the studio, working on her career comeback after filing for divorce from KEVIN FEDERLINE - and Lachey wants to be his labelmate's support act when she tours.

Lachey, who knows all about public break-ups after splitting from pop star JESSICA SIMPSON last year (05), says, "She has that quality about her that people want to root for. If she puts together a great record, and I'm confident she will, I think she'll be right back to where she was.

"A joint tour would be a Jive Records dream right there... I'd open for Britney."
