The burly singer admits he has always had "incredible chemistry" with DeVito after meeting her a decade ago, but didn't want to break up her marriage to actor/singer ROBBY BENSON.

He says, "When we first went out on tour, I was really infatuated with Karla and I had to get over that. She's fantastic.

"I was trying to do a sitcom with her and Robby about 1998 and (TV network executives at) CBS turned us down."
