Brown, real name INGA MARCHAND, wrote a letter to the judge explaining she was undergoing surgery to correct a hearing loss problem, and could not attend court.

Annoyed Jackson promised to issue a bench warrant for the rapper's arrest if she fails to appear again today.

In August (06), Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting two women at a Manhattan nail salon in August 2004 in a dispute over payment for a manicure Brown insisted she never received.

But she withdrew her plea after learning it would come with a three year probation period during which she'd have to undergo drug testing and attend anger management classes.

Angry Judge Jackson has denied her motion to withdraw her guilty plea and said yesterday (23OCT06) she was considering changing her probation time to jail time.

It's not the first time Brown has upset the judge - she once stuck her tongue out at Jackson, which prompted the official to suggest she was handcuffed to her seat in court until she apologised.
