Sofia Coppola at the 44th New York Film Festival - Premiere of 'Marie Antoinette' at the Alice Tully Hall. New York City, USA - 13.10.06
The filmmaker filled the soundtrack with punky anthems from acts like ADAM + THE ANTS and BOW WOW WOW and played many of the tunes she chose for the film as she shot scenes.
And the cast fell in love with Hong Kong Garden, which features in a banquet scene, because the hit would wake them up during early morning shoots.
KIRSTEN DUNST, who portrays French queen Marie Antoinette in the film, says, "Sometimes we would play music and that would evoke different feelings. At the party Sofia had the Siouxsie and The Banshees song playing.
"It was great because when you're shooting at eight in the morning, when you just got done with tons of hair and make-up and wardrobe, and everyone's a little tired, the energy from music like that really helps.
