The BREATHE rapper - real name JOHN JACKSON - was hit in the thigh when a man approached him and three companions and opened fire.

The four men jumped into their vehicle and fled the scene, but were stopped by police when they ran a red light, according to New York Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson Sergeant MIKE YSOKOWSKI.

Investigating officers found two loaded weapons in the vehicle and arrested all four men. Jackson was taken to hospital to receive treatment for his wound, and is now in a stable condition.
