PUBLIC ENEMY TO AUCTION OFF RIGHTS TO LIVE ALBUM
Veteran rappers PUBLIC ENEMY are auctioning off the rights to a live album taped in Helsinki, Finland in 1999.

The disc will be auctioned off by intellectual property firm Ocean Tomo on 26 October (06) as part of a settlement of a lawsuit that dates back to 1992, reports AllHipHop.com.

The decision to auction the album follows a 1999 court ruling when Public Enemy's CHUCK D and producer HANK SHOCKLEE were ordered to pay PPX Enterprises more than $100,000 (GBP56,000) after failing to pay royalties.

Ocean Tomo's WENDY CHOU says, "It's not actually Chuck D that's selling the album. PPX owns the rights, title and interest and ownership in this album. Chuck D does not own this album.

"The person who wins the bid or who buys the album will receive the digital master recording, the original artwork and all associated rights."
