Simpson and MTV UK presenter EMMA GRIFFITHS were photographed looking intimate at the London ceremony on Thursday (24AUG06), despite the singer's long-term relationship with CAMILLA SMITH.

However, Griffiths insists their relationship is platonic, despite the photos, saying, "I wanted to get up on stage and say to Charlie that his new band Fightstar had won. But it was the LOSTPROPHETS. Charlie is great. We're really good mates. We've known each other for years."

Simpson says, "I love Emma, she's a great girl."
