Brody trained with real bullfighters for the film MANOLETE and came to understand the culture of the sport.
He admits he still thinks it's terribly cruel to torture and kill an animal, but there is a dignity involved that he can no longer ignore.
He says, "I didn't grow up going to bullfights and I never fought a bull until training began. I had a lot of research to do.
"I lived with these bullfighters and travelled with them. I stayed on a ranch and trained every day for over a month. If you ask me about bullfighting, it's very cruel.
"But, regardless of my personal feelings about bullfighting, it exists, and it does have some strange beauty in it.
"We all are very impressed with physical courage. The unfortunate thing that I feel about bullfighting is the bull is tremendously courageous, but would prefer not to be there in the ring.
"It's an incredible thing to watch a matador face something that deadly."
