Texan trio LOS LONELY BOYS have found something to celebrate just days after bassist JOEY SACARAIS GARZA was charged with assault - they've scored the highest debut on America's new album chart.

The group's SACRED album has entered the new chart at number two, with opening week sales of 67,000.

The high debut, the group's highest US chart placing to date, comes less than a week after Garcia was arrested and charged with assaulting his fiancee CARINA LYN in an Austin, Texas hotel room.

Los Lonely Boys' publicist has blasted the reporting of the incident, insisting it was all a huge "misunderstanding."

Pop compilation NOW! THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC 22 remains on top of the new Billboard chart, for a second week, after becoming the only album to pass the 100,000 sales mark.

Country singer RODNEY ATKINS' IF YOU'RE GOING THROUGH HELL album debuts at number three.
