Eric Idle at the Press launch of new musical 'Spamalot' held at the Palace Theatre. London, England - 21.02.06

The comedy musical, the brainchild of former MONTY PYTHON regular ERIC IDLE, beat the previous one-week box office record, held by LES MISERABLES, in its first week at the National last month (begs06JUN06).

The stage show has gone on to beat its own record every successive week of its run.

Spamalot's receipts totalled $1.14 million (GBP633,000) for its final week at the theatre last week (ends09JUL06).
