They said their vows almost ten years ago and meant every word of it, Broadway star Bernadette Peters and husband Michael Wittenberg (investment advisor). Wittenburg had a tragic accident and was killed instantly in a helicopter crash. Wittenberg was on a business trip in Montenegro. They’re marriage was everyone’s happy ever after. They met in passing. Michael was in formal wear as well as Bernadette in an evening gown. She was waiting to be picked up. (Not picked up by a man.) Wittenberg flirted, “ready to go out together?” She laughed and then noticed a loose button on his jacket, she said she would fix it if she had the tools. So, Michael went out and picked up needle and thread. She was still waiting for her friend so she sewed on his button. Then they went their separate ways. During the evening the button fell off and Michael sent a card and the button to Bernadette. The rest is history. Bernadette loved being Michael’s wife. They never had kids but plenty of pets. This tragedy has also killed Bernadette. She is lost without him. He was her home, heart and foundation. The funeral has not been set.
