MCGRAW'S GENEROUS GIFT TO PAL

Generous country star TIM MCGRAW turned into the world's best friend when he revamped a pal's dream car as a birthday gift.

The singer rescued his friend Hooter's 1967 Plymouth Satellite from another college pal's barn, reworked the motor's transmission and cleaned it up - and then presented it to his mate.

In a new Men's Journal expose, Hooter recalls, "Tim calls me one day and says, 'I got a new car.' And I'm like, 'Another?' But when he pulled up I said, 'That's not your car.'"

McGraw adds, "I took it and got it completely restored. I gave it to Hooter, and he couldn't talk to me for two weeks because he thought he would start crying."
