British child star FREDDIE HIGHMORE is amazed he managed to pass his driving test after scolding a pedestrian for attempting to cross his path as he reversed during the examination.

The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star, 17, recently succeeded in gaining his full driver's licence, but he admits his test wasn't smooth and straightforward.
He says, "You can get 15 minor errors in England. I got three. One was for slowing down and the other two were for inappropriate use of the horn... The guy (pedestrian) walked out and I carried on backing up and then he started (walking) again and I beeped and shouted out the window!"
And Highmore is surprised his examiner didn't penalise him for his road rage: "I did (pass my driving test)... (But my errors) were quite inappropriate."
