SIMPSON BRUSHES OFF WEIGHT SPOOF

JESSICA SIMPSON has hit out at TV bosses who aired a cartoon mocking her weight - admitting she felt 'attacked' by the spoof.

The singer was ridiculed by animated versions of the Dallas Cowboys - her ex-boyfriend Tony Romo's American football team - during Fox's NFL Sunday (11Oct09) skit.

In one joke in the clip, running back Marion Barber says, "Man, I still can't believe Tony dated Jessica Simpson, even after she blew up bigger than (teammate) Flozell Adams!"

TV heads subsequently apologised to Simpson, who was subjected to media criticism for her rounder figure earlier this year (09), and admitted their humour was "insensitive".

But Simpson is struggling to see the funny side.

In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "I will never understand why people attack for a laugh. Own your beauty and don't listen to the judgement (sic)."
