ANKA'S PROTEGE STUNNED BY JACKSON'S THIS IS IT

The singer who first recorded MICHAEL JACKSON's THIS IS IT theme is delighted the track has turned into the King of Pop's swansong.

Sa-Fire recorded the Paul Anka song, then titled I Never Heard, in 1991 and can't believe it's now Jackson's latest hit.

She tells U.S. news show Access Hollywood, "It's extremely emotional for me because it's the King of Pop. I'm just so, so happy that something good came out of what I did."

Sa-Fire met Jackson, who co-wrote the tune with Anka, just before she recorded the song.

Anka threatened legal action earlier this week (12Oct09) after he heard the Jackson song for the first time - because he was uncredited on the track.

His dispute with the administrators of the King of Pop's estate was quickly resolved on Tuesday (13Oct09) when they agreed to credit the singer/songwriter and award him 50 per cent of the royalties.
