The Nobody's Supposed To Be Here star is returning to the theatre to tell the tale of the late singer/actress, who became the first black woman to star in a motion picture and was a leading figure in the U.S. civil rights movement.

Cox's last stint on Broadway won her rave reviews for her performance in Elton John's musical Aida.

The show is expected to start at the beginning of 2010.
