GIRLFRIEND'S FUNERAL TRIBUTE TO 'SOULMATE' GOLDSTEIN

Tragic ADAM 'DJ AM' GOLDSTEIN's devastated girlfriend paid a moving tribute to her late lover at his star-studded funeral - explaining to the mourners how they had planned to wed.

Hundreds of guests, including celebrity pals Lindsay Lohan, Robert Downey Jr. and former fiance Nicole Richie, paid their last respects to the celebrated club icon at a memorial in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon (02Sep09).

The DJ's girlfriend Hayley Wood was one of the few people to take to the stand and express her feelings for the tragic star, who is believed to have died from a possible drug overdose at his New York apartment in August (09).

Wood told the gathered crowd she would miss "the remarkable human being", and revealed the couple had discussed marriage and having children before the 36 year died.

She said, "We talked of marriage and excitement of having children together. He would whisper in my ear sometimes before we went to sleep, 'Goodnight, my sweet angel.' Most mornings when I woke up, he'd make me toast and juice and say, 'Good morning, soulmate.' I will cherish the memories forever.

"Even though our time together was short, I would change nothing. The love I continue to feel for him and the love that we shared together will live with me and those who witnessed us together forever.

"I will never be the same without him. A part of me has passed away with him. Even the warmest of days will never compare to the warmth I felt when I touched him. He was my soulmate, and now he is my soul. He was my amazing grace."

BECK TACKLES COHEN SONGS WITH MGMT & BANHART

BECK is to re-record LEONARD COHEN's landmark Songs of Leonard Cohen album with famous pals MGMT and DEVENDRA BANHART.

The Loser hitmaker plans to make the Cohen project his next Record Club venture - recording all the tracks from the album in a day without rehearsals and releasing them one by one via his website.

Beck's Record Club last tackled Velvet Underground & Nico.

In a post on his website, Beck writes, "Some of the songs are rough renditions, often first takes documenting what happened over the course of a day. There is no intention to 'add to' the original work or attempt to recreate the power of the original recording. Only to play music and document what happens."

MCFADDEN VOWS TO RETURN TO IRELAND FOR KIDS

Former WESTLIFE star BRIAN MCFADDEN is willing to return to Ireland in a bid to gain custody of his children with British reality TV star KERRY KATONA.

The singer moved to Australia following his divorce from Katona in 2004, and set up home with Aussie singer Delta Goodrem.

He sees his two daughters with the former Atomic Kitten star for several weeks throughout the year, but has vowed to chase custody of them after Katona hit the U.K. tabloids for snorting cocaine and reportedly assaulting her accountant.

And McFadden is ready to swap his life in sunnier climes to head back to his homeland.

In an Australian TV interview, he says, "If we do have to go to a full custody battle I will come back to Ireland. All I care about now is making sure the kids are happy and safe."

And the singer is considering offering Katona a deal - six months away from the children to get herself together.

He adds, "Let her go sort her life out and whatever problems she is having she needs to go get it fixed and in six months to a year they can go back."

The former couple wed in 2002 and divorced in 2004. McFadden is now engaged to Goodrem.

BURNS HANDED $675,000 FOR BOTCHED LIP SURGERY

British singer PETE BURNS has been awarded $675,000 (£450,000) in damages after a cosmetic surgeon admitted negligence over the singer's botched lip enhancement.

Last October (08), the former Dead or Alive frontman won his case against London Harley Street doctor Maurizio Viel after a lip implant operation left him with scarring, blisters, lumps and discharge.

The star claimed he looked so "repulsive" he didn't leave his house for seven months, leading to him losing his London home and missing out on work.

He had to fly to Italy to undergo more than 100 further procedures between 2000 and 2004 to correct the damage after suffering an adverse reaction to the collagen implants.

Now, he has been handed the massive sum as compensation for his ordeal.

He told the court, "I am just glad the case is now over. It has taken away my life and my career. I saw doctors in London who said the only option was to amputate my lips. I was suicidal.

"It is a terrible experience living with the trauma and worry of injury and disability and to have to re-live and recount the details and circumstances of how your injuries happened for the purposes of evidence for the court."

UNSEEN JACKSON INTERVIEW AIRED ON THE DAY AFTER HIS BURIAL

An unseen MICHAEL JACKSON interview, in which the King of Pop talks about his love for JAMES BROWN and THE BEE GEES, has been aired in America.

News show Access Hollywood showed the black and white footage of Jackson being interviewed by moviemaker pal Brett Ratner on Friday (04Sep09) - a day after the late pop star was laid to rest in Glendale, California.

During the 13-minute chat, Jackson revealed Brown and sibling trio The Bee Gees were great inspirations.

Wearing a trucker hat and plaid shirt, the relaxed superstar told Ratner, "James Brown (was) the real entertainer. It would give you goose bumps. We used to have to go onstage after him... I'd be in the wings just studying every step, every move."

And he revealed The Bee Gees really moved him: "I cried listening to their music; I knew every note, every instrument."

The pop superstar and Ratner also performed an impromptu karaoke session - singing segments of their favourite Bee Gees songs.

JACKSONS FURIOUS AT FUNERAL COVERAGE

RANDY JACKSON has hit out at the media after some outlets deployed helicopters to cover his brother MICHAEL's private funeral ceremony - demanding they pull the footage from any future broadcasts.

The King of Pop was laid to rest at the Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park and on Thursday evening (03Sep09), more than two months after his tragic demise in June (09)

Following the star-studded public memorial service at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in July (09), only a select group of family and close friends was allowed to the outdoor ceremony.

Macaulay Culkin, actor Chris Tucker, and best pal Elizabeth Taylor were some of the attendees at the outdoor ceremony, which saw around 200 guests pay their last respects to the Thriller hitmaker.

But despite allowing cameras in to record the guests arriving at the ceremony, the Jacksons are furious some press organisations sent helicopters to film the funeral.

The late superstar's brother Randy has spoken out - insisting a private family gathering was no place for the world's media.

In a statement, he says, "As a family, we are all aware of how Michael's life, and his death, touched so many around the world. It is why we held a public memorial in my brother's honour. And it is the reason we chose to release a small amount of footage leading up to yesterday's ceremony at Forest Lawn.

"I was dismayed last night and again today at the coverage I saw on television of our ceremony for Michael. We had asked the media to respect the privacy and the sanctity of this event; to give us one moment of privacy to mourn as a family out of the public spotlight.

"Unfortunately, despite a no-fly zone around Forest Lawn, many media organisations decided to ignore our wishes. They employed helicopters that not only surreptitiously recorded our private family ceremony, but also severely disrupted it."

"I therefore ask today that media organisations airing helicopter footage of the ceremony we held for my brother immediately pull that footage from their air and refrain from airing it in the future."

WILLIAMSON REJOINS THE STOOGES TO REPLACE ASHETON

IGGY POP has revamped his band THE STOOGES by inviting former guitarist JAMES WILLIAMSON to join a reunion following the death of RON ASHETON.

Williamson, who hasn't performed since The Stooges split in 1974, was considering early retirement from his computer job in California when his former bandmate called to ask him if he'd be interested in rejoining the act.

The guitarist says, "He asked me if I wanted to play guitar again... I figured, 'What the hell, let's do it.'"

Williamson has been rehearsing with The Stooges in Los Angeles and will be a part of the group when it performs classic punk album Raw Power in its entirety at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in London next May (10).

Williamson took over guitar duties on the 1973 album when Asheton, who died of a heart attack in January (09), moved over to play bass on the recording.

COOPER FAN FALLS FROM BALCONY AT NEW ZEALAND CONCERT

One lucky ALICE COOPER fan escaped death in New Zealand on Thursday night (03Sep09) when he fell from a balcony at a concert in Auckland.

The School's Out rocker was performing at the Aotea Centre when one concertgoer fell onto the audience below.

Paramedics rushed to the scene, but the fan and those he fell on were uninjured, according to the New Zealand Herald News.

It is still not clear whether the unnamed man jumped or fell from the balcony.

Overnight sensation SUSAN BOYLE's debut album has topped the bestsellers list on Amazon.com - months ahead of its release.

The Scottish singer's I Dreamed A Dream will not go on sale until 23 November (09), but tens of thousands of copies have already been sold to fans placing early orders on the shopping website.

The CD is even outselling Whitney Houston's comeback album, as well as other pre-release titles such as the Twilight soundtrack.

The album features a cover version of Madonna's 1995 hit You'll See, which the 58 year old insisted was part of her debut.

A source tells The Sun newspaper, "It's a song she has loved for years. She sang it at auditions for TV shows and music contests when she used to be cruelly turned away by people.

"At the end, when she was sometimes reduced to tears, she used to say 'You'll see'. And she's proof she can do it now as one of the most famous women in the world."

Boyle wowed the world earlier this year when footage from her audition for TV show Britain's Got Talent turned her into an Internet sensation. The singer didn't win the contest but she is expected to become the show's biggest star.

A court in Nevada has denied O.J. SIMPSON's request to be freed on bail as he appeals his kidnap and robbery conviction.

The former American footballer-turned-actor is serving a minimum of nine years in prison after he was found guilty of masterminding a heist on two sports memorabilia dealers' hotel room in September 2007. He was convicted in December (08).

The retired sportsman lodged an appeal in May (09), claiming judicial misconduct, a lack of racial diversity on the jury and errors in sentencing and jury instructions.

Simpson's lawyer, Yale Galanter, asked the Nevada Supreme Court to release the former athlete on bail, arguing that his client is "not a flight risk" and would not leave the U.S.

Organisers of the Dragon-Con event couldn't believe it when the original Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock agreed to converse with each other in what became a comedy event of epic proportions.

Nimoy needled hid old friend about the fact he was not part of the new Star Trek franchise, which opened with a prequel to the original TV series this summer (09), asking him, "(Have you) seen any good movies lately?"

Shatner, who has admitted he's upset about not getting cast in the J.J. Abrams blockbuster, asked, "Why wasn't I in the movie?"

Nimoy suggested that might have something to do with the fact his Kirk was killed off in the movie Star Trek Generations.

Shatner told his friend he has yet to see the film, although director Abrams had offered to screen it for him.

The actor told Nimoy he refused to see the film at the cinema for fear of fans recognising him and asking, "Why weren't you in the movie?"

Meanwhile, Nimoy, who had a cameo role in the new film, told Shatner and the 2,200 fans present that he would not return for another Star Trek film.

Bullock hasn't given up hope of drawing the singer's attention, even though she's now married to celebrity mechanic Jesse James. But her husband shouldn't worry too much - the actress fears shattering her dreams of what being with Prince would be like if she was to actually hang-out with her pint-sized crush.
