BENTLEY IN CREDIT CARD COURT CASE

Actor WES BENTLEY is facing legal action from a credit card company after allegedly failing to pay his bills.

The American Beauty star has been hit with a lawsuit from attorneys for American Express, who allege the 30 year old opened up a Gold Account and racked up $92,738 (£61,825) in charges he never paid off.

Now bosses at the financial firm are demanding their money back, as well as interest and attorney's fees, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.com.

HEIGL HOSTS BABY SHOWER FOR POMPEO

KATHERINE HEIGL honoured mother-to-be ELLEN POMPEO by throwing her a star-studded baby shower on Saturday (29Aug09).

Heigl celebrated her pal's journey into motherhood by inviting 25 friends, including their fellow Grey's Anatomy co-stars Kate Walsh and Sandra Oh, to the outdoor bash held under giant umbrellas in the backyard of her Los Angeles home.

Pompeo, who is expecting a daughter in October (09) with husband Chris Ivery, was also joined by Rebecca Gayheart, the wife of her Grey's co-star Eric Dane.

MOORE: 'I'M A NATURAL BEAUTY'

DEMI MOORE has blasted persistent rumours she has undergone cosmetic surgery to enhance her looks, insisting she is a natural beauty.

The 47-year-old actress has long been subjected to rumours she underwent a body overhaul in 2004, allegedly spending $308,000 (£220,000) on a head-to-toe surgical makeover.

But the Ghost star, who is married to 31-year-old actor Ashton Kutcher, is adamant she has never gone under the surgeon's knife for cosmetic reasons.

She reportedly tells France's Marie Claire magazine, "It's completely false. I've never had it done. But I would never judge those who have. If it's the best thing for them, then I don't see a problem. I don't like the idea of having an operation to hold up the ageing process - it's a way to combat your neurosis. But Moore refuses to rule out nips and tucks in the future, adding, "That said, the day when I start crying when I look at myself in the mirror might be the day when I'm less adamant about not having it done. But for the moment I prefer to be a beautiful woman of my age than try desperately to look 30."

LEE HOSTS PARTY FOR JACKSON ON HIS BIRTHDAY

Director SPIKE LEE braved the rain to celebrate what would have been MICHAEL JACKSON's 51st birthday on Saturday (30Aug09) with a massive outdoor party in New York.

Thousands of people turned up at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, where the Malcolm X filmmaker hosted the free bash, celebrating the King of Pop's life and music.

Lee, who directed two of the singer's music videos in 1996, remembered Jackson's genius, telling the crowd, "I was just like everyone else. I loved his talent."

Brooklyn borough President Marty Markowitz designated the day Michael "King of Pop" Jackson Memorial Day, while DJs played the star's hits for the dancing audience.

Meanwhile, in Mexico thousands of fans marked the day by attempting to break the record for the most people dancing to Thriller simultaneously in one place.

Fans donned black fedoras and white gloves to recreate the star's 1983 video in front of Mexico City's Monument of the Revolution, led by a Jackson impersonator who wore a sequined jacket.

Organiser Javier Hildago claims 12,937 people danced, and bosses at the Guinness Book of World Records will make their official decision in a week.

POLICE TO RE-EXAMINE DEATH OF STONES STAR JONES

Police in Britain are looking into new evidence surrounding the death of former ROLLING STONES guitarist BRIAN JONES - 40 years after he was found dead in his swimming pool.

Jones was a founding member of the group, but he was dismissed in 1969 after his legal troubles and drug abuse spiralled out of control and threw the band's touring commitments into jeopardy.

Shortly after his departure from the Rolling Stones, Jones, 27, was found lifeless in his swimming pool at his farmhouse in East Sussex, England.

A coroner's inquest produced a verdict of death by misadventure, but rumours of possible foul play have swirled ever since.

And now police could be set to reinvestigate the case.

A spokesman for Sussex police has confirmed they have been handed documents in connection with the star's death and they will be looking into the new evidence.

The rep says, "These papers will be examined by Sussex Police, but it is too early to comment at this time as to what the outcome will be."

JACKSON HONOURED IN LAS VEGAS

MICHAEL JACKSON was honoured in Las Vegas on Saturday (29Aug09) with a star on the PALMS CASINO's Walk of Fame.

The late King of Pop's father Joseph received the tribute on what would have been the singer's 51st birthday, just hours after the resort dimmed its lights in tribute to another fallen musician, DJ AM, who was due to perform there on Friday (28Aug09).

HYNDE TO PROTEST MCDONALD'S

THE PRETENDERS star CHRISSIE HYNDE will launch her 'I'm hatin' it' vegetarian campaign against fast food chain McDonald's in Los Angeles on Monday (31Aug09).

The animal rights activist, who runs a veggie restaurant in her native Akron, Ohio, has teamed up with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to lead a protest outside a West Hollywood McDonald's as Big Mac lovers line up for lunch.

The Brass In Pocket singer will unveil her 'I'm hatin' it' parody ad - poking fun at the fast food chain's 'I'm lovin' it' slogan - and hand out PETA's controversial Unhappy Meals, which include a menacing Ronald McDonald cutout, a mangled plastic chicken, and a blood-filled packet.

Hynde's campaign follows the release of PETA's hugely popular viral video starring Andy Dick and Martin Short, which features Dick as the McDonald's clown.

She says, "McDonald's means McCruelty as far as I'm concerned."

AMY WINEHOUSE has hired a faith healer to help her permanently kick her drug and alcohol addiction.

The troubled singer has flown mystic Peter Cletus Hippolyte to her native Britain from St. Lucia, the Caribbean island where she spent a lengthy stint away from the spotlight earlier this year (09).

Hippolyte has vowed to help Winehouse "avoid choppy waters" and stop her falling back into bad habits - but the 62 year old is refusing to help her win back her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil until he manages to ditch his drug addiction, too.

He tells Britain's News of the World, "She should take time. If Blake cleans up then things will be alright if he can make her happy.

KENNEDY BURIED AFTER MOURNERS BID FAREWELL AT FUNERAL

U.S. Senator EDWARD KENNEDY was laid to rest on Saturday (29Aug09) after his life was celebrated in a private ceremony led by BARACK OBAMA.

The president delivered a moving eulogy for the last of the Kennedy brothers, who died of brain cancer on Tuesday (25Aug09), in a funeral attended by former Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush in Boston, Massachusetts' Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica.

Obama described his late friend as a "kind and tender hero" as well as "a champion to those who had none, the soul of the Democratic party and the Lion of the Senate."

Celebrity mourners included Lauren Bacall, Jack Nicholson, Tony Bennett, and cellist Yo-Yo Ma who accompanied the Tanglewood Festival Choir and opera tenor Placido Domingo as they sang while guests received communion.

Kennedy's coffin was later flown to Washington, D.C., and then driven to Virginia, where he was buried beside his assassinated brothers, President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert Kennedy, at Arlington National Cemetery.

HEARTBROKEN MOORE GRIEVING DJ AM

MANDY MOORE is "absolutely heartbroken" following the tragic death of her ex-boyfriend DJ AM on Friday (28Aug09).

The singer/actress has paid tribute to the mixmaster - real name Adam Goldstein - who was found dead in his New York City apartment after a suspected drug overdose.

In a statement Moore says, "I am absolutely heartbroken. For those of us lucky enough to have known him, Adam radiated a contagious exuberance for life and also personified the very definition of a true friend.

"To say that he will be missed beyond words is an understatement. My heart goes out to his loved ones."

The couple dated in 2007 and rekindled their romance shortly after Goldstein survived a horrific plane crash in South Carolina last year (08).

Moore, who married rocker Ryan Adams in March (09), was spotted filming upcoming movie Swinging with the Finkels in London the day authorities discovered her former beau dead.

WOOD REACHES DIVORCE SETTLEMENT - REPORT

ROLLING STONES star RONNIE WOOD is set to pay his estranged wife JO $17.25 million (£11.5 million) after settling a divorce deal.

The veteran guitarist, 62, split from his wife of 23 years in July last year (08), after his affair with 20-year-old Russian waitress Ekaterina Ivanova was exposed.

Now the couple is set to finalise its divorce after Jo, 53, agreed to an out-of-court settlement that will effectively give her about half of the star's fortune, reports Britain's News of the World.

The former model, Wood's second wife, will take the family's mansion in Kingston Vale, England and will also receive a monthly allowance.

A source tells the newspaper, "The divorce is mostly done. Jo has half his £23 million wealth and their Kingston mansion."

The pair has two children together, daughter Leah and son Tyrone, as well as Jo's son Jamie from a previous relationship. Wood is also father to Jesse, his son with his first wife, Krissy.

According to the report, legal proceedings will be completed after Jo finishes her stint on upcoming U.K. TV talent contest Strictly Come Dancing.

GOLDSTEIN'S AUTOPSY INCONCLUSIVE

The cause of ADAM 'DJ AM' GOLDSTEIN's death remains a mystery as authorities call for further tests on the star's body.

Officials completed an initial autopsy on Saturday (29Aug09), one day after the 36 year old was found dead in his New York City apartment from a suspected drug overdose.

But the initial investigation was inconclusive, and more toxicology tests, which are expected to take weeks, are needed to determine what killed Goldstein.

New York City Medical Examiner spokesperson Ellen Borakove says, "The cause of death was inconclusive because we need to do additional testing. The testing would include toxicology and tissue testing. We don't expect any results for several weeks.

"It's under investigation and when the investigation is complete we will have a cause of death and a manner of death."

Officials at the Medical Examiner are cooperating with the New York City Police Department in an official investigation, amid reports Goldstein was found with drug paraphernalia in his home.

BARKER HONOURS FALLEN 'BROTHER' DJ AM

TRAVIS BARKER paid tribute to ADAM 'DJ AM' GOLDSTEIN onstage and in heartfelt internet messages on Saturday (29Aug09) - a day after his friend was found dead from a suspected drug overdose.

Grieving Barker dedicated his concert with Blink-182 in Hartford, Connecticut to Goldstein, his partner in hip-hop-rock duo TRV$DJAM and his fellow survivor of a harrowing plane crash last year (08).

Before taking the stage at the Comcast Theatre, the drummer wrote on his Twitter.com page, "Don't know how i am gonna play 2night but i am for AM.

"My brother is gone. i love u (sic) and miss u, i'll never forget all the good times we had."

He later added, "I'll never forget everything we've been thru (sic) and every time i play the drums i'll think of you. U (sic) were an amazing friend/DJ/human being... Rest In Peace my brother, this really f**ks me up."

Barker skipped his usual drum solo during Blink-182's encore and instead bassist Mark Hoppus asked for the arena's house lights to be turned off and for a moment of silence for their friend, before launching into an emotional rendition of their song Down.

Hoppus fought back tears as he told the audience, "We truly hope that you're all having a good time tonight. But this night's really hard for the three of us up here onstage and for a lot of our crew as well because we lost a really dear friend yesterday. His name is Adam Goldstein.

"He was an innovator and he was a genius and he loved music more than any other person on this planet and above all, he was an amazing friend. So we're doing as best we can to get through tonight but right now I'd like to take down the lights and have a moment of silence for our friend Adam. Thank you all very much."

KINGS OF LEON BLAST FANS AT U.K. FESTIVAL

Rockers KINGS OF LEON blasted fans at a U.K. festival in a foul-mouthed rant on Friday (28Aug09), before giving the crowd the finger as they left the stage.

The U.S. band struggled to win over the audience during their headlining set at Reading Festival in England, which was marred by problems with sound equipment and windy conditions.

Frontman Caleb Followill first lashed out at bored fans by asking, "I thought this was supposed to be the loudest crowd in the world?" before pleading with fans to "help us do this" as they launched into their hit Sex On Fire.

But when the audience failed to warm to them and sing along, the star raged, "We know you're sick of Kings of Leon. We're f***ing sick of Kings of Leon too. But we get up here every night and I thank God for everything I've had.

"So for all those who don't give a f**k about us, I understand. But we've worked hard to be here. We're the goddamn Kings of Leon, so f**k you."

The furious singer and his brother Jared then smashed their guitars into the stage, before throwing the remains into the crowd and making their way backstage, gesturing rudely to the disappointed crowd.

Drummer Nathan Followill took to his page on Twitter.com after the lacklustre set, admitting he hopes the fans at the band's next gig at twin festival Leeds on Sunday (30Aug09) will be more responsive.

Followill wrote, "Reading? What the f**k? Zero love for the kings. I know it was cold but holy s**t, y'all were frozen. I can only hope Leeds is in better form."

GALLAGHERS WILL REUNITE, SAYS MUM

The mother of warring OASIS brothers LIAM and NOEL GALLAGHER insists they will reunite.

Guitarist Noel quit the band on Friday night (28Aug09) after a furious bust-up with Liam minutes before they were due to take to the stage at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, France.

Noel later blamed the split on "violent intimidation" towards himself and members of his family, insisting he "could not go on" working with singer Liam.

But the brothers' mum Peggy is adamant they will get over the fight - because it's not the first time they have fallen out.

She tells U.K. tabloid the Sunday Mirror, "They do love each other, but they've always been very different. The funny thing is, they didn't fight as children. They didn't fight until they started the band.

"They are two very different characters and I think when you're with somebody 24/7 and you've got two different egos they are bound to clash at times.

"I hope this isn't the end of Oasis. I don't think it is. They're just tired at the end of the tour. They've had fights before and got over it."

ARCTIC MONKEYS frontman ALEX TURNER was overcome with emotion during the band's headline slot at the U.K.'s Reading Festival on Saturday (29Aug09), choking back tears during the show.

The Grammy-nominated group closed the second night of the event, and Turner admitted the occasion got to him.

JACKSON'S BIRTHDAY BURIAL RULED OUT BY MOTHER

MICHAEL JACKSON's mother KATHERINE refused to bury him on his birthday because it went against her religious beliefs, according to the singer's brother MARLON.

After weeks of speculation about the King of Pop's final resting place, it was reported he would be buried on what would have been his 51st birthday (29Aug09) in a mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.

It then emerged the Jackson family had changed the date so they could have more time to plan the burial service.

But Marlon insists his brother's interment was postponed because 79-year-old Katherine refused to give any significance to the day, in accordance with her Jehovah's Witness faith, which does not recognise birthdays as they are believed to be rooted in pagan celebrations.

He tells Britain's Sunday Mirror, "I wanted to lay him to rest on the day the Lord created him. But my mother really didn't want to bury him on that day."

According to Marlon, Michael will now be buried in a sunset ceremony on Thursday (03Aug09) in the Holly Terrace Grand Mausoleum at Forest Lawn, where Aretha Franklin is expected to sing.

Marlon adds, "This will be a private ceremony. This will be Michael's final curtain call - the last show. His shell will be gone but his spirit lives on."

GALLAGHER: 'INTIMIDATION FORCED ME TO QUIT'

NOEL GALLAGHER walked away from OASIS after suffering "intolerable" and "violent" intimidation towards members of his family.

The guitarist quit the British band on Friday (28Aug09) after a furious bust-up with his singer brother Liam backstage at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, France.

He initially issued a statement telling fans he could no longer work with Liam, after a string of recent disagreements between the pair.

Now the Wonderwall hitmaker has elaborated further on the reasons for the split - insisting he was "forced" to leave the band after his management refused to support him.

In a statement on the official Oasis website, Gallagher writes, "As of last Friday the 28th August, I have been forced to leave the Manchester rock'n'roll pop group Oasis.

"The details are not important and of too great a number to list. But I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support and understanding from my management and band mates has left me with no other option than to get me cape and seek pastures new."

Gallagher apologised to fans for the cancelled Rock en Seine set, and also for the band's axed headline slot at the V Festival in Chelmsford, England on Sunday (23Aug09) - blamed, at the time, on Liam's throat virus.

The guitarist adds, "Again, I can only apologise - although I don't know why, it was nothing to do with me. I was match fit and ready to be brilliant. Alas, other people in the group weren't up to it.

"In closing I would like to thank all the Oasis fans, all over the world. The last 18 years have been truly, truly amazing (and I hate that word, but today is the one time I'll deem it appropriate). A dream come true. I take with me glorious memories."
