JONAS DREAMS OF PRESIDENT'S JOB

Pop star NICK JONAS has his sights set on America's top job - he used a recent diabetes awareness press conference to voice his ambition to become U.S. President.

The 16 year old singer spoke to a sold-out audience at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on Monday (24Aug09) to try and raise awareness of the illness - which he has suffered from since 2005.

And the star - who has previously met U.S. President Barack Obama to voice his opinion on government funding for diabetes research - was inspired by the venue, which is usually reserved for press junkets held by the most powerful people in the world.

He told the assembled reporters, "I've always had this dream of becoming president one day.

"As much as I joke about it and kind of say it to get a laugh, it is somewhat serious. I don't know if it will happen."
