RIMES QUESTIONED AND RELEASED BY POLICE
Publicists for country singer LEANN RIMES have confirmed the star is under investigation after a minor traffic accident on Thursday night (20Aug09).

Initial reports suggested the How Do I Live star had been involved in a hit-and-run incident, but her aides are downplaying the story.
Rimes was questioned by police at her home on Thursday, but her spokesperson says, "It was a routine police investigation into this incident, and a police report was filed. We are confident that this matter will be resolved shortly and LeAnn will be cleared."
A police source reports there were no injuries and no charges were filed after the alleged accident.
A police rep tells People.com, "She (Rimes) was questioned and released. It's an ongoing investigation."
