Singer NATALIE IMBRUGLIA is begging pal DAVID WALLIAMS to give her space during nights out on the town - because the funnyman scares off other men.

Imbruglia has long been romantically linked to the Little Britain star because they are often photographed stepping out together - but she insists their relationship is strictly platonic.

And the Torn hitmaker is convinced the reason she doesn't have a boyfriend is because potential lovers are terrified of asking her out in front of Walliams.

Imbruglia says, "I don't wanna go out with David, he's my friend (but) he's really bad for my dating. He pretends that we're friends and everything but if a guy approaches me - he once spat water on this guy!

"He tries to hide it with comedy, (saying) 'Oh I'm being funny!' And I'm like, 'What are you doing? People are going to think we're going out! You're scaring guys away!' I don't like it! I've been very clear with David and he knows the situation - we're just friends."
