Oscar-winning songwriter JOSEPH BROOKS has responded to new accusations of sexual abuse as he faces charges of raping 11 women - insisting he 'doesn't remember' abusing hired protitutes and hard drugs.
The 71 year old was arrested in New York in June (09) and pleaded not guilty to charges of sex offences against women who answered online adverts for acting roles.
The You Light Up My Life composer is now facing further controversy - ex-madam Kristin Davis has come forward claiming the star abused her prostitutes when he was one of her clients.
She tells the New York Daily News, "He used my service hundreds of times. He'd pay up to $1,500 an hour. He started out as a normal client. But, as his cocaine abuse progressed, he became abusive. He always wanted the youngest girls and often rejected the women I sent him. He'd also take their cell phones and refuse to let them call me. They'd come back from an appointment with him in tears... He'd given them a script. They were supposed to tell him they loved him so much they wanted to have unprotected sex."
But according to Brooks' lawyer, Jeff Hoffman, the star suffered a severe stroke in April (09) which has rendered him unable to recall the alleged incidents.
Hoffman explains, "As a result, he doesn't remember well enough to say whether Davis' allegations are accurate. He does say he wasn't an abuser of alcohol or narcotics - so far as he can remember."
