WILLIAMS GOES BIKING TO GET IN SHAPE AFTER HEART SURGERY

Funnyman ROBIN WILLIAMS is getting back in the saddle in the hope his bike route work-outs will help to get him in shape for an exhausting stand-up comedy tour this winter (09).

The comedian was forced to undergo heart surgery to replace a valve in March (09) after falling ill on his Weapons of Self-Destruction comedy tour, and he's keen to get back onstage.

But one recent 20-minute slot made him realise he's not yet ready for a full show - and he's hoping some bike riding will help get him back in shape.

The Mrs. Doubtfire star tells WENN, "I went onstage two months ago, did about 20 minutes, and I went, 'No, I'm not ready yet. Thank you.' But I'll have to see if I can do it.

"I'm just going to ride my bike again, which is kind of how I know if I'm in somewhat shape for it. I get out on the bike, and if I can start to do hills that'll be it. The doctor gave me this little device that they monitor, and then you send the info in over the phone. You put it on the phone, and it reads it.

"So far the phone hasn't gone, 'Go now. Lie down. You are not doing very well.'

"When I was growing up, they used to say that drugs could kill you, and now my doctor is saying, 'Robin, you have to have drugs to live,' and I realise my doctor is my dealer now - and a lot harder to get a hold of."
