DALTREY TOURING 'TO KEEP VOICE IN SHAPE'

Rocker ROGER DALTREY is preparing to embark on his first solo tour in more than 20 years - to ensure his voice stays in shape.

The Who singer is hitting the road to take his The Use It Or Lose It shows across the U.S. later this year (09).

And Daltrey is hoping the gigs will help keep his vocals on form.

He says, "I've only ever toured solo to keep my voice in shape. Singers need to sing. Being a solo singer does give me the freedom to do songs from my outside influences. I am going to reapproach songs I haven't sung for a while and hope they will be distinctively my own."
