One person was killed and 80 injured after a storm caused a stage to collapse at The Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta on Saturday (01Aug09).

Two crew members of Costner's band Modern West were injured during the freak accident and were taken to hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.

The star accompanied them to the hospital and has since offered to return to Alberta to aid the Canadian province in the aftermath of the incident.

A spokesperson for Costner and Modern West tells ETOnline.com, "We are so saddened by the loss of life and injury that occurred on a day that carried so much promise, but turned so wicked so quickly. We hope to return to Alberta in the future to help with the healing."

Organiser Larry Werner adds: "We are deeply saddened by the events of Saturday night. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families, fans and friends impacted by this incident."
