WINEHOUSE'S FATHER FIGHTS TO PROTECT HER FORTUNE

AMY WINEHOUSE's father MITCH is determined to protect his daughter's fortune from her ex-husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL - insisting the former junkie won't receive anything in their divorce settlement.

The couple married in Miami, Florida in summer 2007 after a whirlwind romance but the troubled union ended in a divorce, which was finalised earlier this month (Jul09).

The rocky relationship was blighted by drugs from the beginning and started to fall apart when Fielder-Civil was sent to prison.

He spent a large stint of their marriage behind bars after he was convicted on charges of grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice, relating to a 2007 assault on a pub landlord.

And Mitch Winehouse has vowed Fielder-Civil will leave the marriage empty-handed because he doesn't deserve any of his daughter's money.

He says, "He hasn't asked us yet for money in the divorce. But when this does go to court, we're not going to give him anything. He also admitted he got her onto drugs. How can he expect any money?

"He is a convicted liar, a convicted violent criminal. I am not saying that he forced Class A drugs down Amy's throat, but now he wants us to believe he begged her to stop. It's madness.

"She has been a victim in all this - if anyone needs to apologise it's Blake. But Amy doesn't need his apologies."
