PRODUCER REACHES OUT TO 'NICE YOUNG GIRL' BARTON

The producer of MISCHA BARTON's latest movie HOMECOMING has reached out to the star following her reported breakdown - and praises her 'professional' worth ethic on the film's set.

The actress was taken to a mystery location by officers who "assisted her with a medical issue", a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson has confirmed.

Her representative Craig Schneider tells People.com, "Police were involved due to Ms. Barton's celebrity status, to safely transfer her to medical treatment as per doctor's orders. (She's) okay and resting."

According to Access Hollywood, the star was placed under a 5150 hold - reserved for individuals who present a danger to themselves or others, are gravely disabled or suffer from a mental disorder - by the request of her physician.

Due to her health issues, Barton was forced to pull out of the Homecoming premiere - but the film's producer, Austin Stark, has nothing but kind words for the troubled actress.

He tells People.com, "I wish her all the best. First and foremost, we want her to get healthy again. It's obvious we'd like her to support the movie and be here, but we hope she gets better."

And Stark insists the star was a pleasure to work with throughout filming: "When she was on-set, she acted like a professional. I honestly had no complaints. She struck me as a nice young girl, she never said anything mean to anyone, and she wasn't late on-set or anything like that."
